With the Inflation Crisis Still Targeting Arizonans, What Exactly are the Governor & Legislature Doing to Provide Relief?

We're scouring over the bills and finding every single chance Arizonans have had to get inflation relief or increased economic opportunities this legislative session. We are currently tracking over 70 bills.

A little over half the legislature took a bold approach this session to bring relief to struggling Arizonans. Unfortunately, Governor Katie Hobbs backtracked on her campaign promises and has blocked most relief bills that have come to her desk.

As the session moves along, we will continue to update the Inflation Relief scores of the Governor and Legislature. Check back frequently for updates.

Rental Tax Relief Bill

How Does Rental Sales Tax Relief Help Janet?

How Do Cities Profit From Inflation

AS LEASING COMPANIES INCREASE RENT FROM INFLATION, THE CITIES COLLECT MORE SALES TAX THAN THEY DID BEFORE THE INFLATION CRISIS

While cities have made lots of money from skyrocketing inflation, Sen. Steve Kaiser (R-LD4) sponsored bill SB1184 to eliminate the rental sales tax so struggling Arizonans could get a little bit of relief from inflation.

Unfortunately, every single Democrat legislator voted against inflation relief and Gov. Katie Hobbs vetoed it.

The rental sales tax is a double tax on property. For Janet, relief from the rental sales tax means her copays would be covered or the cost of eggs, milk, and butter for the week.

What would rental sales tax relief mean for you? Let your representatives know you need inflation relief now!
